What does a chiropractic physician have to do with diabetes. Well what I am not going to do is to tell you to stop taking medication. That's called practicing medicine without a license, I don't do that. If you are taking Metformin, continue to do so. But I am here to tell you that there are things you can do to lower your blood sugar levels.Your brain and nervous system need to things to survive and thrive well fuel in the form of oxygen and glucose and activation.
When your Blood sugar levels are skewed it can have serious consequences like blindness, amputation, loss of a limb. Diabetes is a serious condition that should not be taken lightly.
What makes us Unique?
We test and treat you Metabolically and Neurologically. We assess your biochemistry, physiology and neurology. We look at the big picture and not just at the label, condition or disease you've been diagnosed with.
Both Metabolic and Neurologic assessments and treatment are important when it comes to blood sugar. I'm here to tell you we leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of your chronic health problem.
Metabolically we asses by utlizing advanced comprehensive testing. We do a Complete Blood Work up with Complete Metabolic Panel, Complete Thyroid Panel, Complete Lipid Panel, CBC with auto differential separates the Red and White Blood cells. Why is this important? This test assesses your organ function, liver, gall bladder, thyroid, adrenal gland. Adrenal glands have a lot to do with blood sugar levels. If the adrenal glands are not addressed a big part is missing in your overall evaluation of your chronic health condition.
We assess you for food sensitivities. Specifically gluten which is wheat, rye oats, barely. If you eat gluten and you are sensitive you are spiking your blood sugar levels. If you are having trouble getting your blood sugar levels under control this maybe why.
We assess your adrenal glands for cortisol levels- your stress handling hormone. This is a salivary test that is done 4 times throughout a day. This is a DNA test that will assess the function of your adrenal glands. If your are exercising and eating right but your adrenal function is off you will have problems with blood sugar levels being skewed.
We assess your Immune System by looking at your Immune Panels. There are 2 parts to your immune system ; Th1 and Th2. Th1 is the T cells that attack and clean up. Th2 is the B cells or antibodies that tell your T cells what to attack.
You don't know if this is problem unless you are tested.
If there is an imbalance. Why is there an imbalance?
Is there an active antigen like fungus, mold, food sensitivies, chemicals, heavy metals or is there dysregulation like blood sugar being out of balance. We can find the answers by utilizing testing that has not been considered by your prior doctors.
We assess for H.Plylori which is important to get rid of if you want good gut function.
We assess for Leaky Gut which is a break down in the lining in your bowel from antibiotics, diet, parasites, infection. We can look at your brain neurotransmitters, and Hormones. If your hormones are altered your blood sugar levels can be skewed.
And we can asssess you for inflammation by looking at C-Reactive Protein and Homocysteine levels.
We address and help to solve or improve these conditions nutritionally and by using Glutathione which is the mother lode of all antioxidants.
Neurologically we assess your brain and nervous system through a physical evaluation and if neurologic deficits are found we treat with brain based therapies.
